Pluto has been in my to-watch list for over a year now. After finishing Monster, seeing Urasawa has another detective manga but sci-fi and based on Astro Boy had me in a more Urasawa mood.
The anime was released in 2023 and generated hype on release being the first Urasawa work get animated in almost 20 years, and its more Western-style formatting of hour-long episodes being released all at once on Netflix.
The premise also could not be more timely. In a world where robots with highly-advanced AI, that don’t feel any different from humans, co-exist alongside humans, while also having robots to help with more menial tasks. When the most advanced robots get taken out one-by-one, its up to a robot detective to figure out the case.
